NDLEA intercepts drug trafficking by Indian woman

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a 42-year-old Indian woman, Ms. Neetu Neetu, at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano, as she attempted to transport 72 parcels of heroin.

The heroin, sealed in wafer wraps and disguised as chocolates, weighed a total of eleven kilograms and was found in her luggage after a thorough search based on credible intelligence.

The NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, stated that officials apprehended Neetu during the inward clearance of a Qatar Airways flight from Bangkok, Thailand, via Vietnam and Doha.

He further noted that her arrest highlights a growing trend among drug trafficking organizations to recruit foreign nationals to smuggle illicit drugs across Nigerian borders.

In response to the arrest, NDLEA Chairman, retired Brigadier General Buba Marwa, emphasized that vigilant operatives would consistently thwart such attempts using modern technological tools and proactive intelligence.
