Security agencies in Rivers State vows to protect all critical infrastructure of the government and ensure total security of lives and property during the emergency rule declared by President Bola Tinubu.
Addressing the press on behalf of all the security chiefs in State, the State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, noted that their joint operations have been instrumental to the sustenance of peace in the state.
During the briefing in Port Harcourt, the state capital, Adepoju said the security agencies have since the declaration of state of emergency in the state been in a joint operation to ensure normalcy in the state.
He emphasized that the security activities are necessary measures aimed at preventing any potential breakdown of law and order.
The Police Commissioner disclosed that the security team has foiled several attempts by criminals to take advantage of the development in the state to vandalize critical assets of government.
He added that one suspect died while attempting to detonate an explosive on an oil pipeline.
