Personnel from the 7 Division at the Borno Express Terminal Park in Maiduguri has apprehended a soldier, identified as Nathaniel Jeremiah, for illegal possession of ammunition.
According to intelligence sources, Jeremiah, who was on a welfare pass and traveling to Adamawa State, was stopped at a terminal and found with 89 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition in his bag during a routine security check.
The soldier was immediately arrested and taken into custody for further questioning.
The ammunition was seized and has been handed over to the relevant authorities for a thorough investigation.
